Former preterist Brock Hollett has written a book entitled Debunking Preterism. In it he claims that God spoke to his heart one night, and he repented of his preterism. He wrote Debunking Preterism to set forth what he claims is a "proper biblical eschatology."
In his brief 50-page response to Dr. Hollett's book, Gary DeMar reveals that there is nothing new, novel, or even proper about the eschatology in Debunking Preterism. Dr. Hollett, like most futurists, simply looks for ways to ignore the time statements and the impending judgment language of what the Bible says is "soon" to befall Jerusalem in the first century.
Gary's response is an excellent introduction to the biblical theology of eschatology. Bible prophecy cannot be divorced from the rest of Scripture--it is a package deal. Localized and impending judgment language is all over the Bible--in both the Old and New Testaments--and an eschatology that seeks to interpret the Olivet Discourse and the book of Revelation in a different way is being dishonest with the biblical text.
