To Pledge Allegiance: On the Road to Independence

The third volume of the American history textbook series, To Pledge Allegiance, is available at last! You won't be disappointed for the wait. This volume continues with the Great Awakening and its powerful effect on America, extensively covers the War of Independence, and concludes with the presidential election of 1800, which has been called the Jeffersonian Revolution. Just as in the first two volumes, On the Road to Independence continues to teach the significance of events and the worldviews that shaped them. The text's pages are filled with wonderful color images and lively sidebars. The time line graphic keeps the student focused on the historical time period. The acknowledgment of God and His providence is evident throughout America's formation. On the Road to Independence attempts to show this truth in events, documents, speeches, acts, and proclamations, and with men and women who often put their own lives at risk.
